Think of our first appointment as a consultation: a chance for us to meet and see if we are a good fit.
I will ask what brings you to therapy, and what you hope to get out of it.
My main approach is Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT): a short-term, goal-focused and evidence-based therapeutic practice which incorporates positive psychology principles through a trauma-informed lens.
In the most basic sense, SFBT is structured and practical. Together, we look at motivating your desired behavioral change and achieving your desired outcome.
We will focus on solutions rather than problems. The purpose of our time together is for you to leave feeling empowered.
People often find that 4 to 8 sessions is sufficient, and return occasionally for therapeutic “tune-ups”.
